As the end of the HeavenJam GameJam draws near, I find myself feeling a bit overwhelmed... way off track with my hopes.... only maybe even on track with expectations.

I knew going into this (as shown in other devlog entries) that I was laying out the groundworks for much too much. My attitude about it was that getting a small percentage of a large game would equal a small game. That was false thinking. What I've done at this point is far from the vision of the larger overall vision, but not cohesive enough to even want to put it out there and share with the community as a whole.

I add some polish and refinement and some more "exciting" things to it in hopes of revitalizing some of the vision, but then struggle to get the added pieces of the puzzle to all work well together with what is there already. 

There are things that have been delaying a fix for. I don't know why some things happen, but its not game breaking.... things like the camera culling distance resetting to 1000 on play making the Majestic mountain partly vanish giving a view of only a cutout portion of it, immersion breaking, but not game breaking.

At this point I may need to end the player Journey after 3 regions instead of 8.  That takes out a very large portion of project and makes the game (compared to the vision) seem so un-satisfactory.

My next to-do items, in hopes of just completing an enjoyably playable game, are the following:

1. Game start screen.

2. Add the collectible memory moments that tell the story.

3. Wall off the unexplorable areas.

4. Try and improve game performance and export size.

5. Work on any extra visual polish.

I am disappointed with the many setbacks that have taken place. The game really doesn't feel complete, and I am at a point now with less than a week remaining that I am not sure how successful I will be to get it to feel complete.

Hoping for the best out of this.
